About the event

Join us at Joy Street Studio in Austin, TX to create tiles and memories for the Kerr County Love Project’s community healing mural.

Many in the Austin region have been directly or indirectly impacted by the July 4th floods in Kerr County — from families who experienced profound loss to first responders, neighbors, and community members who supported search, rescue, and recovery efforts. We recognize the ripple effects of grief, care, and connection that extend beyond county lines.


As arts responders, we are holding space for friends, families, and supporters to come together in a meaningful act of creation. Guided by our team of trained art therapists, participants will hand-shape ceramic tiles that will become part of the final public mural in Kerrville.


This process is grounded in neuroscience and offers a trauma-informed expressive arts practice: the tactile rhythm of working with clay supports regulation of the nervous system, connection to others,…
