Creative Coping: Art Therapy Adult Group
A gentle space to slow down, quiet the mind, and find steadiness within yourself.

This group is designed for adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, ADHD, or persistent overthinking and are seeking practical tools for change. Using principles from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), participants will learn how to observe thoughts without becoming entangled in them, develop emotional regulation skills, and cultivate greater clarity, balance, and self-compassion.
Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or feelings, this group focuses on building a new relationship with them—one rooted in awareness, curiosity, and gentleness. Sessions include guided mindfulness practices, reflective exercises, and optional creative expression to support awareness and regulation. Creative activities are offered as accessible tools for mindfulness, not as skill-based art instruction. No prior experience with mindfulness or art is required—only a willingness to slow down and explore.
The group is facilitated by Jason Gans, ATR-BC, LPC, a board-certified art therapist and licensed professional counselor known for his thoughtful presence and imaginative approach. With a background in animation and over a decade of experience supporting clients in both clinical and community settings, Jason brings a unique ability to help individuals explore their inner landscape through mindfulness, creativity, and reflection. His work integrates practical coping tools with creative exploration, helping participants develop skills they can carry into their daily lives.
Jason creates a calm, welcoming environment where participants can step out of cycles of overthinking and reconnect with their own steady inner ground.
