Lori Lockhart’s work as an art therapist is rooted in a deep belief in the transformative power of creative expression. Currently completing her final Master of Arts practicum and internship year in Art Therapy and Counseling at Southwestern College in Santa Fe, she brings over a decade of experience as an art educator working alongside diverse youth populations. Her clinical practice is heartfelt and dedicated, grounded in a social justice framework and a person-centered philosophy. Across both educational and clinical spaces, Lori’s primary mission is to cultivate inclusive, affirming, and compassionate environments where individuals can cultivate self-awareness, build resilience, and discover their authentic voices.

 

To gently support emotional expression, identity development, and holistic healing, she integrates trauma-informed and mindfulness-based practices into her work. This commitment to community care is further reflected in her volunteer work with art-based groups, including initiatives like the Kerr County Love Project and a student-led Art Hive in Austin. She facilitates collaborative spaces to foster grounding, reflection, and meaningful interpersonal connection through shared artmaking. As a queer woman, Lori holds a deep, lived commitment to LGBTQIA+ affirmation, safety, and visibility. Ultimately, she dedicates her practice to creating sanctuary spaces where every individual feels genuinely seen, valued, and empowered to explore their identity while building a true sense of belonging.
